Fliers Preach Protecting ‘Future White Children’
INDIANAPOLIS — Some east side neighbors are on edge after fliers promoting the Ku Klux Klan were left on their doorsteps.
The handouts, entitled “Save Our Land, Support the Klan,” were distributed sometime overnight Thursday near Burbank Road off of Washington Street, 6News’ Renee Jameson reported.
“I feel scared because someone was bold enough to walk to your door,” said Kyona Hawkins, an African-American woman who said a flier was left at her parents’ home. “You know, I have a child that be here all the time, so it’s scary.”
Neighbors in the diverse community were particularly upset over a sentence in the flier that reads, “We are fighting to preserve the existence of our race for our future white children.”
“It’s sad. They say they want to protect the white children growing up. Well, we want to protect all the children growing up,” said a white resident who didn’t want to give her name.
